Accupuncture for OA pain? (Arthritis board)

7th May 2005
I have OA in my hands and accupuncture has been a part of my treatment. I also take relafen and SAM-e. I think the best part of accupuncture for me is that is very relaxing. My hands feel great after a treatment and I am super relaxed for the rest of the day. It took about 4 treatments for me to notice a difference. I have done 9 treatments so far. I don't know for how long I will continue accupunture-my insurance doesn't cover the cost. I also have a hard time finding a babysitter to watch my 2 kids. My accupunturist said that if you don't start feeling better after about 6 to 8 treatments it probably won't work for you. Good luck.
