I haven't read yet any medical things (or heard) that heart racing/pounding/dysrythmias can be related, but an awful lot of us have experienced them along with our GERD or other stomach issues! The truth is they ARE connected per se via the vagus nerve, so it's entirely possible in my mind that a bad nerve or otherwise irritated could cause problems with the heart as well. I had huge problems with Reglan (to help gastroparesis), which is noted as possibly causing heart dysrhythmias and racing as well as numerous nervous-system problems. Since I had that med I have more problems with heart than I used to, but I DID have occasional weird pounding and dysrhythmias during and right before the "breakthrough" to GERD and the like.
