Well, here's an update. My results from the sonogram showed no abnormalities. I also had an endoscopy which showed redness and inflamation of the esophogus. The biopsy results aren't in yet. I'm taking protonix once a day and ranitidine twice a day. My symptoms are not going away. Today, I was working in the yard doing some raking and shoveling and began to have very bad pain in my upper back which radiated to the front. The sypmtoms were brought on by activity! How is this related to GERD? I had to sit down for 10 minutes and the pain finally subsided quite a bit. I thought I was going to have to call 911 or something. I have an appointment with my P.A. tomorrow because they want to prescribe me with some anti-anxiety meds because they feel I'm getting worked up over this. I guess I am to a certain extent but the pain is real. Especially what happened today. What else can it be, and why isn't it going away? :confused:
