I have asthma too, and I haven't had any problems for a while...but my last sinus infection I had made me cough and short of breath for a while until everything cleared up...so yes, sinus infection/issues *can* trigger asthma symptoms! I love my Ped and my Allergist, they *listen* instead of just looking at test results and stuff. I know, sometimes it's a long road to get the diagnose(s) and help you need, but once you get it you'll feel a lot better! I can't stand docs that don't listen. My mom got me an appointment with some lady a while back since my Ped wasn't in, and she was like "Oh, you'll be fine..." So then I was still having issues - sinus issues, short of breath, cough - so I went to my normal talk, and he was like Well you're tests look good...but let's try giving you an inhaler to use as neeeded, and see if that helps anything. It helped. So then I went to the allergist, and he did some more testing - as always, my Peak Flows looked good...so then he did a Methocoline Challenge, and I faled that. :P So then he put me on Pulmicort and kept the Albuterol as needed...and I've been feeling a ton better. The last time I used my Albuterol was in April when I had the sinus infection. I'm not exaclty sure where I was going with this post...except offering you some support...and don't be afraid to question your doctors! Good luck!
