Well it is a mix. He said that it is normal for the discs above and below the fusion to get irritated at times. That's what it was/is. He said I also have a huge muscle spasm that even he could see on the x-ray, which is not usual. I think muscles don't show up on x-rays but the swelling did.
He told me to go back to physical therapy to have some deep tissue massage, heat, collar and let my psychiatrist keep prescribing meds. He wouldn't even give me a muscle relaxer. I know I'll thank him later, he wants to keep all my meds with one person plus my gp. She only prescribes the provigil, synthroid, and nexium.
So it is not anything major, I am relieved about that, really I am.
What I hate, and I am being honest here is that there is no quick fix. I am still in pain and I want it to go away. It is very tempting to take more than prescribed, as I am still tapering. but I would pay for it later big time. So I have no idea why, but I have still been following my taper except for New Years I just can't take the pain. i am a baby about pain. My psych said it might be rebound pain too, the fake pain thing.
UGH UGH UGH OWCH OWCH OWCH OWCH
