I am 46 and was just recently diagnosed with Adult ADD. I have been on Strattera for 9 days. I have never posted much on message boards...so am new to this, too! I would just like to hear from others with ADD to learn more about this.

Hi Aspen, I too have been diagnosed with ADD, I'm 39. I've been taking Strattera for 3 weeks now. I seem to see a little difference, I'm able to focus at work a bit better, but I'm still scatterbrained and unorganized. I also take Provigil for Narcolepsy. From what I've been reading, supposedly Strattera and Provigil have a synergetic effect with each other. So, any extra help would be great if its true. Have you had any side effects from the Strattera? I basically get dry mouth.

Greetings,

I'm brand new to the Boards, too. I am a 53-year-old female who finally went to a doctor for my ADD about six months ago. I've tried Adderal, Concerta and Strattera. Adderal worked the best but made me very irritable and angry and also have insomnia. Concerta didn't seem to do anything but keep me up at night and make me more depressed than usual. Strattera let me sleep but did nothing for the ADD--and I was depressed and constipated. Now I'm trying Provigil. I'm up to 400 mg and told the doctor I don't think it is helping. He said to give it more time. He also just put me on Lexapro for the depression--I'm taking 1/4 of the pill before I go to bed because it makes me tired. He said the tiredness will go away. I met someone last year who said he had ADD until he gave up sugar. I'm a devout chocoholic, but I decided to give it a try a few months ago. I have been off all refined foods since then. I don't think it made a difference, but I do notice other improvements so I'll stick with it for now. I'm getting discouraged at this point. Glad I have all of you to share with--I've never done this before.

Hi Vasdef. I am new to this forum, and I have ADD to. Recently diagnosed, age 23, ADD-inattentive. My question-- do you remember where you read about the synergistic relationship between Provigil and Strattera? I would love to read about this!!
