Day to Day with Bad Breath (Open to All Health Related Topics board)

9th January 2006
Saw the ENT today and after 4 months of musical drugs, side effects and expensive tests, her new diagnosis is the same as the old one, inflammation in my nose and swollen throat. She's convinced the swollen throat is from acid reflux and is doubling my protonix to twice a day. Otherwise she thinks I have two separate problems, the acid reflux swelling my throat and rhinitis inflamming my nose and giving me pnd. Oh well. This is it. If this doesn't work, I'm going to a new ENT. I've been here since late summer and I can't believe this doc has yet to figure it out!

Ginger, I found that nexium was really hard on my system and found food digestion slow. Protonix is a big improvement, but I still need to take in a lot of fiber in order to keep my digestive system going. So you may need to find a PPI that works for you. I also find my choice of food to be a big factor. I bought a smoked ham and have gorged on it for the last couple of days and umm...let's just say, I'm not very regular right now. So I'm going to have to lay off the protein for a little and stick with the veggies and lotsa of fiber.
