beta blockers for stage fright (Anxiety board)

5th January 2007
I take a beta blocker prescription called “Propranolol” it’s said to be the most effective blood pressure medication that has calming as a side effect. Many people swear that this is a wonder drug for things like speaking in public.

I take it along with Xanax for Panic disorder with GAD. Honestly doesn't seem to do much for my anxiety but I still take it at times. I monitor my blood pressure a couple times a day and when it goes higher then recommended I take it for a few days and it drops down to a healthy rate. So it works for its intended purpose too.

I don’t tolerate medication well so take the smallest dose of 10mg most people take 20 to 30mg. I noticed Propranolol is on Wal-Mart’s list of $4.00 prescriptions. Inexpensive and helpful to many.

I take Propranolol - it's a life saver when it comes to my anxiety attacks. Which Beta-Blocker are you prescribed?
