My wife has been withdrawing for over a week now after coming off 10mg Methodone, a (?) dose of Propoxyphene, and Adderall (? 10 to 50 mg/day). Worst side effect seems to be anxiety. She was prescribed a Catapres-TTS Patch (clonidine 0.2mg/day) and has become seemingly worse since beginning it 3 days ago. Claiming to be suicidal and refusing to go to a Psychiatric Care facility.

She has been taking her prescribed Prozac (40mg/day) and Xanax (2-3mg/day) but claims it isn't helping.

Is it likely that the withdrawal pains and/or anxiety are mostly mental??? I've read that this can sometimes be the case. I'd love to hear from anyone with experiences on this!

I'm guessing that her recent overdose attempts with Trazadone, Xanax, (and whatever else that she wanted me to believe she'd ingested) are all just cries for help.

Unfortunately, there are not any forced-admission facilities in our area.
