There is no data that I am aware of that shows any increased incidence of prostate cancer in people taking Proscar (or Propecia, which is simply a lower dose of Proscar). One controversial study in the recent urologic literature actually revealed a lower incidence of prostate cancer in men taking Proscar for benign prostate enlargement.
