Hi Girls,
I am 51, in peri, periods every 60-70 days after a year of them getting closer. I have most of the peri symptoms.
My gyno did an endometrial biopsy & said I was estrogen dominant. She wanted me to take Prometrium, a natural progesterone pill. I went to the website & it warned about breast cancer. My Mom died of breast cancer at age 50. Also said you shouldn't take if your depressed, which I am & have been for years, peri makes it worse....sobbing.
Should gyno have given me blood tests to determine progesterone levels? What should I ask for? I'll just go to my primary doc & ask for them.
What would you recommend? Take the Prometrium, try a cream?? I really don't know what to do, but I know estrogen dominance is not good either. I've been taking Flax oil with primrose (Omega 3's), B50 complex, Vit C, these are recommended in a book called "Before the change...taking charge of perimenopause. She also recommends the progesterone cream. I did not see one word on blood tests. :dizzy:
