Sounds like you really can relate to the opiates. Were your days and nights planned on how many pills you had to keep you going? And did you always run out before you could get a new script? Were you always trying to figure out who else might have some that you could buy them from?
When I would run out it started with flu like sympoms but after 2 days it became a lot worst. Skin would begin to crawl, body, especialy arms and legs, felt like it was trying to turn inside out. Blood pressure would go way up too.
Took myself to emergency room a couple of times. They would not give me what I really wanted or should I say needed at the time. Clonidine and promethazine for blood psi, and nausea
I have to work 12 hour shift. Work 3 off 2 work 2 off 3, midnight to noon. This is when I really crave the pills. Always used them to get me through these long hours. I have chronic back pain and right now it feels like someone just kicked me in the lower back. So I need to load up on motrin before I head out. Well this is the price I have to pay. If I could take pain meds like a normal person I would not be going through this. It really pisses me off sometimes.
