My mother is an 81-year old who had mitral valve repair about six weeks ago. Since that time she has been sick to her stomach and says she just has to force herself to eat anything at all. She is losing weight. Her doc has prescribed Compazine and Phenergan but they don't seem to help. Just make her sleepy. My thought is that maybe there could have been some trauma to the vagus nerve. Would this be possible. Any suggestions. She has a CT scan next week.
