hysterectomy - procedure question (Open to All Health Related Topics board)

2nd September 2003
Not everyone reacts the same to medicine. If these meds do cause you nausea they can give you phenergan or something fast acting to settle your stomach. However, you do not have to take anything you aren't comfortable with. Talk with the doctors prior to your surgery and tell them what may work for you or if they have any other suggestions on what might work for you. The only bad thing about that is...if it's not controlling your pain it can sometimes take several hours before the nurse is able to get a doctor's order for something else. Hope this helps a little. Take care!!
