**Update on Condition**

Hopefully I can get some opinions on this. After taking prescribed Pepcid, now my appetite is back and nausea is gone, however now my throat feels swollen, and now I have a small cough, lots of phlegm and congestion. I do have the occasional burping up food (can this be phlegm?). I also blew my nose like crazy this morning. Now I'm thinking I could possibly have a allergic reaction to some dust while cleaning out my garage last week, thats when I started feeling sick and the closed throat sensation. I called the doctor to see what his opinion is on this. Does anyone have a opinion on this? Or am I just being paranoid on what I have?

Went to the doctor today, and he was surprised to see how stressed and nervous I was about this. He said I probably have acid reflux and my IBS is probably also kicking in as well. He recommended I take some anti-depressants to calm me down and also switched me from Pepcid to Protonix. If this doesn't work he said to go back in a month and he'll send me to a GI.

I UNDERSTAND WHAT ALL OF YOU ARE SAYING WITH THE GERD AND LPR. I haven;t gone to work in 9 months because of this i got it 15 months ago. I feel like i can;t breath all the time and the throat tightness and ear pressure are all driving me crazy. I have been to every docter in the new york area and they all just look at me like they don;t no what to do. I am 34 years old women and want my life back the way it was. I have a 5 year old son and feel like he lost his mother when this all started. Any opions would help i am now taking pepcid complete 2 at a time 3x per day. I have tried every other med there is.

Im sorry everyone is feeling so bad. Im not feeling too good myself. I feel the same way you do Gar, Ive felt this way for almost a year but it has gotten a little better slowly.
I feel for you Chalupa, I really do. I wish I had the magic cure for everyone but I dont. I dont know anymore than most people on the board. Chalupa, Im going to be trying the pepcid probably on Monday. Ill let everyone know how it goes and if it doesnt work then Ill try something else.
