Hi, I agree with both posts above anibiotics can cause a yeast infection even if you do not have one so I'm more than positive that it can aggravate one that's already present, and one more input antibiotics have a 10 day effect level thats why most directions for antibiotics say take them in a 10 day period, for one reason I expect is that the effectiveness of that medication losses it's potience within that amount of time and taking an old antibiotic could have really made you feel dramatically worse if it's past its effective date.
............ The
Penicillin V 500 MG tablets I started taking were nearly a year old (from Novermber 2004). It was such a stupid panic move on my part without first consulting with my doc. But I'm serious, all the strange symptoms - the aches, blurry vision, headaches, nausea, clicky joints, etc. - started happening after I start taking the
penicillin. Prior to October 5th on my initial visit to the doctor, I had been going thru a period where I was tired all the time, feeling bloated, craving sweets and breads, constantly burping after meals and when drinking alcohol, my skin textured changed. At this point it's in my opinion, after doing alot of research (especially after my saliva test this morning), that the
penicillin probably worsened the symptoms of a yeast infection I wasn't previously aware of. Though as previously stated the signs were there.
...........I started drinking these BioK live cultured bacterial drinks (as recommended on here) a few days ago and I gotta tell ya, my skin has reverted back to how it used to feel and I've gotten alot of color back in it. My doc also prescribed me some Theralac probiotic and Fluconazole, so we'll see how it all turns out.
