Bad breath has changed my personality:Part 2 (Open to All Health Related Topics board)

tonight i actually tried avocado for the first time and was shocked at what occured. it did seem to clear the coating up on my tongue, although, i'm not sure if it helped with my bb. i've heard avocado mentioned before on this site and i remember a guy was eating it for lunch every-other-day, but does anyone know why he didn't eat it everyday? anyways, i know for a fact i can beat this. it all comes down to the science of it. first, what is causing it? i know i haven't had this all my life...it just seemed to come out of no where this part year and a half. second, why are some treatments working but then wearing off? what specific ingrediants are in these remedies that are even causing this temporary relief? i don't know...i haven't really tried many treatments so far. but listen to this, i went to my doctor when i had a really bad sore throat and he gave me penicillin which helped a lot. i remember for those two weeks my bb was literally GONE. but as soon as i got off the drugs it came back almost instantly. i just wish someone out there could give me some sort of hope to grab onto. it's pretty disheartening when the entire thread is nothing but negative results. oh well...keep posting everyone.

Hi all, I guess that I'm having the same problem as most of people that post here. My bad breath all of sudden appeared about year and a half ago and since then it is ruining my social life. My dental care is excellent, at least according to what my dentist said. I even quit smoking and stopped drinking alcohol. I have also undergone a tonsillectomy and they found cervicofacial actinomycosis there. The doctors prescribed me to use penicillin for 12 days (two shots in a hospital followed by 10 days of pills). In addition, I consulted the possibility of acid reflux with my doctor and she has prescribed me 40mg Famosan pills and after I finish the package, I have to see my doctor and see if my breath improved. Anyway, I am going to describe you all the symptoms I have and see if you have the same ones (sorry if I include some graphic details):
- My breath is usually not good, I try chewing gum in combination with having a couple of Tictacs in my mouth behind my lips. I would decribe it as pungent and very sour (I can't smell it myself, but sometimes when people talk to me, I smell my breath coming back). Sometimes, however, the breath becomes a hundred times worse. People in the same room as I usually blame each other who farted, though no one did (I am SURE that it's from me, since even when I was alone talking to my friend, he noticed this smell, which I could not smell and asked me if I farted. Though I did not, I found saying "yes" and lying less embarassing than saying that it has to do with my breath). Sometimes when I walk into a room and I spend a few seconds, people independently on each other say things like: "What's this stench?" In addition, always when I'm present in a room with more people inside, the people always complain about "bad air" inside the room and they open the windows.

- Sometimes I have pungent feelings in my throat that last for a few minutes.

- The edge areas of my tongue are pink but the inside areas are white. About 1.5 yrs ago my tongue used to be pink and beautiful. Also, I have a feeling that the tiny papilae that form the surface of my tong are standing out more, than before. They are all white. When I eat a yoghurt, the part of my tongue gets more white than normally. Could that be lactose intolerance?
