burning eyes everyday - allergies? HELP! (Allergies board)

Why don't you ask your doc for Patanol Eye drops. They are prescription eye drops and are better than anything over the counter. I use them whenever my eyes are bothering me due to allergy.

Thank you for your reply. Yes, I am using Patanol currently, but it does not seem to help too much. Do your eyes burn when they bother you? Mine are not really itchy too much, they just burn non-stop like I got soap in them. It's driving me crazy. Thanks again.

Sometimes the overuse of Patanol will make the eyes burn so be careful of the use, only use it as directed.

Use hot towels if it is bothering you and don't rub your eyes, makes it worse.

Thank you so much, Halls. Boy, it's hard to win in this allergy game.
That's very good advice. I went on another site last night, and read that allergy medicine can cause that effect of dryness in the eyes. They advised to drink plenty of water. Since last night, I've drank PLENTY of water and already feel better! Thanks again.

Glad you're feeling better.

I found Patanol less effective than Livostin, myself.

Thank you.
Now, I've stopped using the Patonol, and just drinking lots of water,
and my eyes feel 90% better. I think the burning was a side effect from all the meds I've been taking (allergy meds and Verapamil - for hbp).
Thank goodness for the Internet... a great resource.
