Are you sure that you're taking oxycontin for breakthrough pain? Could it be oxycodone? Xycontin ... very poor breakthrough medicine. The narcotic in oxycontin is oxycodone, which when used w/o the extended release ... breakthrough pain.
I ask because if you are using oxycontin , then along with the patch you are using two long ... pain. Is the same dr prescribing the patch and the oxycontin ?
