Tell your doctor exactly what complaints you have with Alesse, and he or she can go from there. :)

You may have to try a few to get a "good fit". Usually you can tell after about three months how any given pill is going to treat you.

Ortho-Tri-cyclen is the only pill that has approval to claim it's good for acne, but many of them work as well. Since you've been on a monophasic pill (all the pills in the pack are the same, hormone-wise), it will be a bit different if you switch to a multi-phasic pill (different weeks of pills have different amounts of hormones in them), but it may be useful to you.

Don't give up yet. The pill has many benefits, and most women are able to find one that's a "good fit".

You could try Ortho-Cyclen, which has the same ingredients as Ortho-Tricyclen, but it's a monophasic pill like Alesse. It is less androgenic then Alesse, so it should help with acne. But talk to your doctor, since he or she knows you and your history, and if you list your complaints and what specifically you want out of your pill, can help you find the best one.
