Does weight affect birth control? (Birth Control board)

18th July 2005
I think the extra weight and lose dose pills have more to do with timing. Like, with low dose pills you have to be very diligent about taking them at the same time daily. I tried ortho-cyclen lo and was taking it daily but at different times of the day. I am about 160lbs myself and learned that the levels of the birth control was not consistent in my system which contributed to breakthrough bleeding, nausea and other side effects I didn't have to have. But while on higher dosage bc pills, i could take them any time (just took them daily) and had no problem.
