Kevin Trudeau's book - Natural Cures - questions about the Candida cure (Alternative Medicine board)

2nd January 2006
DTemple, I just wanted to respond to your original question about the "Candida Cure." I am not familiar with the protocal of Kevin Trudeau, However, I visited a D.O. who put me on a candida free diet along with a prescription anit-fungal (Nizoral), and some pro-biotics. It worked great! It aleviated my arthritis symptoms, most of my fybromyalgia symptoms, and my heartburn. I noticed big improvements in just a few days. I followed the diet and used the prescription for 1 month. I still take the pro-biotics. It was fairly inexpensive. The prescription was a $10 co-pay. The probiotics were under $20.

Betseyann, If you research Nizoral, which I just did, it can have some serious side effects including liver toxicity and it has caused some deaths. The warnings alone were enough for me. I can't consider taking it for myself. I guess I need to keep searching for the right Candida protocol. The one in Kevin Trudeaus book is very expensive.

DTemple, I can totally understand your position. I did have my liver function tested before I started the Nizoral and after 1 month. All was well. I do not regret taking it. I feel so much better than I have for 15 years. I do hope that you are able to find a protocal that you feel comfortable with and that works well for you. Have you done any research on ThreeLac? It is a combination of probiotics and enzymes that is supposed to work very well. I have read reports that some people get good results using it even if they do not follow a special diet.

BetseyAnn,
I actually took ThreeLac two+ years ago, and it seemed to work but in some ways I felt worse. Maybe it was the die off everybody talks about? I wouldn't mind trying it again, it's very easy to take and it tastes good. Two years ago, I really didn't know what was wrong with me and actually part of my problem turned out to be mercury toxicity. In the summer of 2004 I had my amalgams removed and alot of my symptoms improved, some even dramatically. But I seem to have this nagging yeast problem, my tongue is white, I have digestive problems, aches and pains that are unusually bad and a discharge. I am afraid of most prescription drugs because I react to most of them so after reading about Nizoral, for now I decided to be cautious. I have always read and heard that Candida is very hard to get rid of, and that it takes a long time to go away and it does reoccur.
