   coughing constantly (General Health board)

19th October 2006
Sounds exactly like "laryngopharyngeal reflux" (LPR) . Do a search on it.

Treatment is 2 doses a day of a Proton Pump Inhibitor (PPI).

You can get PPIs from your PCP. If you have cough-variant reflux like this, you must must must take 2 doses a day of the PPI. 1 dose is only for people with basic heartburn.

PPIs:
Nexium
Aciphex
Prevacid
Protonix
Zegerid

Nexium and Aciphex work the best.
