Hi janus, and the reason behind this mess is that I have Laryngopharyngeal Reflux which is like GERD and the acid has traveled to my throat and causes a bunch fo irritation and its so hard to swallow since all is irritated and I stil have alot of acid, even though I am on 2 nexium pills/day my doc has stretched my esophagus 2x and I still have that horrible feeling in my throat, the food feels as if it is stuck and wontgo down very easy.
here is some info I found online.
Sometimes, acidic stomach contents will reflux all the way up to the esophagus, past the ring of muscle at the top (upper esophageal sphincter or UES), and into the throat. When this happens, acidic material contacts the sensitive tissue at back of the throat and even the back of the nasal airway. This is known as laryngopharyngeal reflux or LPR.
