The burning sounds like nerve damage. Considering the surgery, you may have the nerve pain for a while, until it heals. You still need to talk to te surgeon about it. There are certain meds that are good for nerve pain. Pain pill (opiates) tend to not do much for nerve pain. Ask your doctor about Neurontin, Lyrica, or Topamax. Hope you feel better soon!
