Thanks for the replies,
For SouthBeach,
Reguarding the Lyrica. It is intended for nerve pain, it's kinda like a new neurontin. I have bad nerve pain in my left arm/hand and my left leg. It works wonders for my nerve pain. It can make one drowsy but I never noticed any side effects, after the first couple doses. I did get a little drowsy, some blurred vission, and slight headaches but those subsided after about three days of consistant use. However, one perk was that it realy helped ease me restless leggs. It is a Class 5 controlled substance I think. I know it controlled because I was only able to transfer a refill to a different pharmacy once because of that fact. Once I take it I only notice the pain relief, I can deffinetly tell if I don't take it because I get a severe headache but it's nothing like narcotic withdrawl. However, on it's own it has helped my pain more than any one drug and I am truly thankful for it! By the way I take 150mg every 12 hours.
For Maggie,
It's hard to say because I sweated when I was on the morphine but I was like a salty waterfall when I was withdrawing. Since yesterday on the Sub I actually think I am sweating less than I ever have. However I remember reading on the perscription insert that somthing like 22% of patients reported sweating as a side effect of suboxone. Also I know that opiods make you sweat and suboxone has an opiod in it, a partial opiod but an opiod none the less.
I'm curious for anyone reading this who is on sub maintenience for chronic pain. What dose are you maintaining and what was your med/dose prior to the sub? I just started so I have yet to reach a stable dose. I've taken pain meds for pain for about ten years. In the last month I tapered from 120mg down to 60mg daily of morphine prior to switching to sub. but I have been on much higher doses to manage the pain.
