shameandpain are out there (Addiction & Recovery board)

I read ultram also works on serotonin, is it possible to go on an SSRI to help you wean off? There's that whole serotonin syndrome thing but my doc said it's happened to like 3 people.

I know someone was on here this summer who said her husband was really depressed.

Is your back pain at all neuropathic? I have a bulging disk pressing on sciatic nerve and chronic leg pain, I tried neurontin and it helped for a little while but what has helped way more, for cheaper and fewer side effects is a small dose of one of the old tricyclic antidepressants (I take 25 mg of nortriptyline). Also, it makes you a little drowsy after you take it, so it's good for sleep. But has helped w/ the pain tremendously.
