   Unbelievable!!!!!!!!! (Addiction & Recovery board)

7th July 2005
Maybe you could try a psychiatrist. They are alot more understanding and want to work with you, not push you away. When I had my bad pilll habit, I went to one (this was a few years ago) and he helped me taper and helped me talk through alot of the problems behind my addiction which started it in the first place. He put me on an antidepressent (lexapro) and neurontin for anxiety, but it's used for pain as well as lots of other stuff. He is great. I am now moving a 1/2 hr away but I am sticking with him for a psychiatrist! It's worth the drive. I had the same problem with my doctor but the therepy helped me to this day. Wish you the best, kim
