can retilin hurt you? (ADD - Attention Deficit Disorder board)

Quote from brainf0g:
The physicians aren't the ones to be angry at. If you are angry with the invention of pharmaceutical drugs, well then your anger should be placed else where, not at the doctors.

But there are some docs who think they are infallible who deserve a swift kick...

Now, you do have a point, however. Doctors really know the body, however, when it comes to drugs, they only can go by what the pharmaceutical co's tell them. Pharmaceutical drug companies have deviated a bit from the purpose of curing/alleviating disease conditions because drugs have become big business/stockholdings/bottom line/get rich items. It's clear, with the headlines these days, the integrity of these companies have drastically gone downhill. People have been saying this for years, only nobody listened because of question of "reliable sources'..... but now finally thanks to more complaints and investigation, it's starting to come to light.

Latest breaking news, and finally from mass media (reliable sources at last!!!), the New York State Attorney General is suing GlaxoSmithKline for withholding and misrepresenting data on their drug Paxil. The suit claims Glaxo conducted at least five studies on the use of Paxil in children and adolescents but published only one, which had mixed results. It claims the company suppressed negative results from the other studies, which did not show that Paxil worked and may even have suggested an increased risk of suicide.

And just recently a lawsuit filed against the makers of Neurontin for misrepresenting and pushing off label use was settled. It found the company GUILTY.

You reep what you sow. If that's true, things will continue to get worse for these companies. They can no longer claim "conspiracy theory" or say people like Dr. Peter Breggin is a scientologist kook or the countless other professionals that have been warning about psychoactive drug dangers are just making up this stuff. Finally, thanks to various whistleblowers within the system and subsequent government investigation, the solid proof is finally able to prosecute those lying thieves.

There is also the news that Wisconsin Attorney General Peg Lautenschlager filed a lawsuit against 20 major drug manufacturers across the nation for allegedly inflating prices, violating the state's wholesale pricing laws and driving up costs for health care programs for the poor and other drug buyers.

Now, true illness, especially in senior citizens, require life-saving medication. Drug companies do need to see profit, but so much so to the point of letting the very people who need their drugs to die so they can make a huge killing of a profit. What good are the life-saving drugs if the person can't get them?

I'm just glad to see the time has come for the greedy to pay the piper....
