Why won't my voice come back? Pleas help... (Acid Reflux board)

11th October 2007
[QUOTE=Kis86;3253089]so you feel the same way...i get so depressed sometimes cuz I don't even want people to hear the way I soun d now so I just don't talk and stay quiet....how did I get acid reflux this bad!? I'm only 21 years old! Is it from side effects of medication? I wish I never took them! Also do you think soon or someday we will get our original voices back? I was planning on taking singing lessons with a friend and sister a month beofre this happened but now it's on definite hold until my voice and throat feels better and clears up.

is there any miracle thing that can get our voices back and yeah also sometimes I feels like I got phlem stuck in my throat and it's so bothersome and annoying and it changes my voice and everytime I try to spit it out nothing comes out...it's like it's stuck there until I fall asleep and wake up the next day....everyday I wake up my voices sounds different from the other day...I have a appointment with my ENT doctor tomorrow and I hope he finds a solution to this problem...how long have you had this problem and how much did it change your life too? thanks

Hi Kis86,

I sure hope it will go away! I don't plan on being like this forever even if I have to haunt my doctors night and day. There is really no reason for anyone to live like this! It's awful. I can't tell you how many times I've coughed today because of this insane tickle in my throat. Sometimes when I have a big loud cough it seems to immediately fill my nose, eyes and ears with mucus or whatever. I've started taking Zyrtec (allergies) and nasonex (just in case!) and still.. Yes, I get depressed and have become quiet in social situations (if I even attempt social situations)

Well..I have no idea why we got this way. For myself, I suspect it might have had something to do with taking Chantix. A medication to stop smoking. All of this started around that time. I've stopped it over 3 months ago now (and stopped smoking) but I just think it was somehow triggered by that.

Yes, this has certainly changed my life.

Good luck with the ENT appointment. I also have menieres and have been going to the same ENT for many years. He thinks I shouldn't still be suffering with all the medicine I am taking and should look for a different Gastro doctor. Sometimes I think these doctors just give you the run around when they don't know what to do.

sigh...

Try not too get too upset over this though. It tends to make it all so much worse.
