I was given Monopril when I started and got the cough (awful tickle that even when coughing the tickle would still be there! This went on for a month with no let up. It was awful - then they changed me to Avapro (ACE inhibitor II) and that it fantastic!!! NO side effects and works like a charm! However, Avapro doesn't work for everyone in bringing down pressure, but if you don't have HBP then maybe it's the one for you. EVERYONE I know that is on Avapro has no side effects - talk to your doctor about it! (I tell everyone this, the makers of Avapro should start giving me a cut in their profits! LOL!)
