Luteinizing hormone. It regulates the menstrual cycle and egg production. It changes through the cycle. Maybe it's just the hormones in the BCP that are throwing your system off then. I can't recommend any bcp. They have different effects on each individual. I wish I would have known about B vitamins before I was taken off Desogen. I was a size 4 and in 2 months I went to a 8 I really should have been in a 10 but refused to buy that number. I was taken off due to migraines. They had increased over the 10 years that I was on it to the point that I was having a migraine for almost a full month. I was put on Ovcon 35 for a month but I was moody and puffy from water retention. So I was changed to Loestrin FE 24. After 2 months I learned about B vitamins after reading these boards. I took B's for a few months and no more migraines.

I tried to give the Loestrin time to work with my body but I just stayed the same. Stopped gaining weight but not loosing any either.

Now I am back on the name brand of Desogen this is my 2nd month. No migraines but I did get a bad headache and backache last month and this month a few days before my period.

I had no problems on Alesse and Mircette. I'm not sure why I switched it years ago I was on them.
