   internal piles (General Health board)

30th January 2008
[COLOR="Navy"]I'm sorry for your mom's troubles. My hubby has internal fissures so if he doesn't keep alot of fiber in his diet, he passses blood and it's painful. What his doctor reccommended to him was to eat a high fiber cereal every day and drink lots of fluid. He eats fiber 1 which has 14 grams of fiber per serving. I also have him taking Miralax which is now an OTC rather than by script. The combination keeps the stools extremely soft so that it isn't painful to go to the bathroom.

Your mom is going to have to try and find what will work for her. She will need to add enough fiber compound to her diet to keep her stools soft enough that it won't irritate the piles so it won't hurt when she goes.

good luck!
