 Hi, Vanessa. :)
I have been on Singulair since October 2006 and I have had no side effects what so ever. Keep in mind body chemistry: what affects me/you may or may not affect you/me.
I was put on it at a time when my asthma became occupational therapy due to my office. It did a very good job for this. I continue taking because I want another "weapon" against the asthma. Putting aside the current news about it, I am afraid of going off of it.
It is also supposed to help with allergies and allergic rhinitus. It may be helping with the allergies. I say "may be" because I not able to compare my health in terms of allergies before and after taking it. In terms of allergic rhinitus it hasn't really worked for me. I have AR since I was a child and suffer from clogged nostrils especially at night. I have been using nose sprays for this. Unfortunately the clogged nose has slightly worsened this past month, maybe due to the Metoprolol.
I will be discussing Singulair with my new pulmonary dr on Tuesday. I am punting my current one. He's a nice guy, good dr. He unfortunately cancels at the last moment Saturday appoints. Because of work I cannot go to him during the week.
Keep me posted what your dr decides.
