My monitor supposedly caught about 8 in a row. As scary and uncomfortable as these things are, and how ill they make you feel, they are harmless. The only reason you need to worry is if you sustain the arrhythmia for a LONG LONG time or if your heart is damaged by some sort of serious underlying condition like heart disease. You might feel faint during them because a) for the second your heart isn't doing as good of a job pumping blood to the rest of your body, including your head b) they are also probably simultaneiously making you anxious and scared, which causes you to feel faint as well!
I was on 25mh Toprol XL for a little while and it wasn't as effective for me, so my doc switched me to Metoprolol 25mg twice a day. I have only felt flutters about twice in the last month.
