   neck problem (Back Problems board)

25th January 2006
He said it didn't appear to be inner ear related, other than I may have been overcompensating from the neck pain, and keeping my head in an unnatural position so long it affected the fluid in my ears. Otherwise, things looked ok there. He said my equilibrium was really bad. I compare the feeling to having too much to drink.

I got a neck x-ray, which I won't get any results back until tomorrow at the earliest. He thinks the dizziness has something to do with adrenal inefficiency. I developed this problem last year from the steroid shots, the endocrinologist believes. I saw her last week, and I'm waiting for those blood tests to come back. My primary care doc was going to call her yesterday to make sure they were doing a full blood workup. I had to go the radiofrequency denervation route b/c I cannot get steroid injections.

I still have the neck pain, and that may or may not be related to the dizziness. He may order an MRI next, he wants to see how the x-ray and blood tests come back first. I don't think it's coincidental. The neck pain started first, then within a few days I started feeling off balance. It's just gotten alot worse as times goes on. And, I also notice some numbness around my face.

I started taking meclizine for the dizziness. I've taken two doses so far, and I don't feel like I'm going to pass out every second. I'm still a little woozy feeling, so hopefully that will improve.

This is really scary not knowing the answers. I guess I just have to be patient and wait a little longer.

Thanks for the replies. :)
