Has anyone lost weight due to anxiety? (Anxiety board)

10th June 2008
I'm new to this board and I was diagnosed with anxiety when I was 8 years old. Quite some time ago. I've recently been going through different issues that have caused anxiety or stress for me. I hadn't weighed myself in a long time. I did so the other night and noticed I had lost some weight. This in itself has caused me considerable anxiety. I have a very real fear of leukemias or just plain ole' cancer of any type. My father died with multiple myeloma 15 years ago, my best friend developed leukemia 9 years ago, and 4 years ago my mother developed chronic lymphocytic leukemia which is a slow leukemia that mostly older people get. So, you see why I fear weight loss, blood work, and anything really in the medical field.

I've lost roughly about 10 lbs. Like I said I hadn't weighed in a long time. A month or more ago I was walking about a mile to a mile and a half daily. I don't know if I could've lost any during this time or not. I didn't really feel like I did. I find when I have anxiety I don't want to drink or eat until I get so hungry I have to. Does anyone else have this problem with eating and loss of weight. In the past, I have lost some weight before. I've been having intestinal disturbances too. I've been under stress for the past 2 or 3 months. Also, I have an irritable bladder and I have a lot of bladder infections also. I've been taking Macrobid for a week now.

Please let me know if anyone out there can relate to any of this.
