[COLOR="Red"]{REMOVED}I was very against meds. With two young kids now, I need a quick fix until I can get the time to work on myself. I'm going to do CBT at some point as my anxiety is more of an OCD thing. My mind keeps racing with random stuff and I can't relax.
I've seen a psychologist in the past when going through infertility tx and also miscarriages. It helped but then the anxiety got bad when I was running after two toddlers! I saw a psychiatrist who prescribed Buspirone, which I was on for under a year. When it really didn't work, we tried Luvox which seems to be better. I think I need to fine tune the dosage. So far, only headaches are the side effects I'm dealing with.
Re: breathing, I've noticed less and less of a problem. When I'm stressed, and know it, I can't take a deep breath. Even when I don't feel stressed, I've noticed the breathing issues. The only time I really feel relaxed is when DH is giving me a massage and the kids are sleeping. Then I noticed I CAN BREATHE! I think this med is working better because I've noticed more times when I don't notice my breathing, which means it's ok.
Hang in there. I think it's all a work in progress. It's not easy and I would rather be off meds and be an easygoing person but that's just not me and is something I have to manage. Good Luck!
