is it possible to gain weight going OFF the pill? (Women's Health board)

26th June 2004
I started taking BC pills for the first time two weeks ago. The brand I am taking is Low-Ogestrel. However, I have already gained 5 pounds while on it! This seems very fast, since I haven't been on it for very long! My diet/excersize patterns were no different than usual.
I knew that this was a possible side effect for some women and not others, so had decided to give the pill a try to see if maybe I would be one of the women who didn't gain weight on it. Guess not :(
Anyway, I am completely freaking out and afraid that I will just keep gaining and gaining! So I have decided to stop taking the pill. I was wondering if it is possible for me to gain any additional weight after I get off the pill, as a side effect? I would appreciate any input!
