Thank you for replying to my post Ann. I forgot to mention that the ankle area is red most of the time. My GP said it is a circulation problem. Of course even a lay person knows that! He is a very sweet physician and will see me anytime I call but I feel like I'm considered to old to bother with. I know the swelling isn't normal and I feel that there is something which can be done to get rid of this edema. I'm currently on combination of lisinopril, atenolol, lovastatin, and of course the HCTZ. I take lovastatin for cholesterol although I've never had out-of-range labs. It's a 'preventative' thing I guess.
I monitor my pressure almost daily and it is always 110-125/70-80.
I will try the compression hose in the morning. As I said earlier, my ankles are still swollen after being in bed for nine hours.
I hope you don't mind my asking Ann but do you wear compression hose?
Thanks again, Annie
