question regarding ryr to lovastatin (High Cholesterol board)

12th October 2007
Hindy, keep in mind that "Lovastatin" (a.k.a. Mevacor) the prescription drug manufactured by Merck is not the naturally occuring variety. It is man made in a laboratory and comes with the known side effects. However RYR has been in existecne for over 1,000 years and has no where near any of these known side effects.

Thanks for the replies. I wonder why the doctor was so insistant that I switch to lovastatin when I had no side effects with the ryr and my tc went from 250 to 230 in one month. I though that was really good! Maybe he felt uncomfortable with not being able to dose accurately?

It's called money and control-a combination that a majority of doctors love.
