   * Do Not take vitamins when on narcotic medication...WHY (Pain Management board)

23rd September 2007
I have several specialists that treat me and they have never told me not to take my beta blockers with my pain meds. My PM doc, cardioligist, primary care doc, metabolic doc, and kidney research docs have all said it's fine. I take 2 different beta blockers (labetalol and coreg) along with 2 high blood pressure drugs (lotensin and catapres). Without my beta blockers, my heart would probably explode. Even with both of the blockers, my resting heart rate is 130 and can easily jack up to 195 (that's not fun...have to go to ER and be shocked....sucks!!)

Anyway, just curious because I've never been told not to mix them. Plus, my pharmacist has never said anything about interactions, either. Have a great day!! :)
