Hydrocodone withdrawel treatment plan...will it work? (Addiction & Recovery board)

8th December 2003
Hi everyone! Ok, I did it! I committed to this detox thing. Today (Monday) is my first day in about 5 years w/o taking a vicoden  . I went to my doctor, and he gave me a few precsriptions. I'm looking for info on them, and any experiences that anyone else has has with them. Here they are:

Lorazepam (Ativan) 1 MG
Ibuprofen 400 MG
Chlorpromazine 25 MG.[/SIZE]

Does anyone know what the Lorazepam or the Clorpromazine do? Anyone else had expereince with them? I've got those, bannanas, Melatonin, and lots of immodium. What else do I need. Any help would be appreciated. Share your experiences with me! (Makes me feel not so alone). Thanks guys. Everyone on this board is so nice and helpful, and I swear, if I make it through this, it will be because of you guys!

Kelly,
Be careful with the Lorazepam because it can be very addictive. Take it only as directed and not for too long a period. It can be a very uncomfortable insomnia withdrawal for days. Try some valarian root to help you relax and sleep. A jacuzzi or hot bath can do wonders at least for awhile. Talking to others can help very much, cause it gets us out of ourselves. Take care and hang in there cause there is light at the end of the tunnel.
