WHAT ARE CORTIZONE INJECTIONS? (Back Problems board)

18th August 2003
I think everyone is different. I have had the cortisone injections--one on ea side lower lumbar, and I felt almost immediate relief by the time I got home. The problem was that the relief only laste for 2 days and then returned just as severe. My doctor didn't advise me getting them on a regular basis, only at times when the pain was so severe that I needed a couple days away from it.
I only went in once more then was put on vicodin, Lodine and selma which controls the pain compared from what it used to be.

I hope you find some relief, no one needs to suffer extreme pain.

(I might add that I use the drugs very discreetly, sometimes only half or only at night for sleep.)
