Wow! I have personally been on three different BCP's, and none caused chest pain. I would think that this would be an early warning sign for something bad. I have also never heard of it as a side effect, though I am not familiar with your brand.
I've also heard that within three months, your body should adjust to your pill and side effects should mellow out. I was on Lo-Ovral (a lot of estrogen), and didn't experience anything other than a little weight gain, and severe anger. After being on it for nearly five years, I developed Melasma (dark splotchy spots) on my feet. When my doctor saw what happened to my feet, she switched me to a lower dose of estrogen containing pills - OrthoTriCyclenLo. Almost overnight, I began feeling starved and began gaining weight rapidly. I also lost the rage fits, and became depressed, anxious and paranoid. I went through this for a year.
Finally, this last November, my doctor switched my brand again. I am now on a mini pill (no estrogen at all). Within two days after starting this pill, I could tell a huge difference. I was back to the person I used to be, without drastic mood issues. I also lost the hunger feeling. The downfalls are - I had my period the week before my last GYN visit. Four days after starting these pills, I started break-through bleeding for four more days, and haven't seen a period since. I was warned that I would have irregular periods but I had no idea that they would be so weird. Also, these pills only last in your system for 27 hours, so you have to make sure you definately take the pills at the same time every night or you have to use a back up method. But it seems worth it to me...to not suffer the effects of the other two pills I had taken.
I definately think that trying a different brand couldn't hurt. I believe there is a brand out there for every woman, you just have to find the one right for you. Good luck.
