Hopefully,

Weren't you on lo-ovral? Is there any particular reason that you switched pills?

Mary, I was on Mircette. Before that I tried Loestrin. After three years my blood work is finally reflecting what my body has been SCREAMING! My estradiol is less than 15 with the range being 19-500, which means no estrogen even after months on bcp. My fsh is .8 away from registering in the postmenopausal range. My dr. said something about my body not utilizing the hormones in the bcp, so we switched. Ovcon is still a low dose bcp, but it has a higher level of estradiol (35), while the Mircette was 20. Believe me after only 3 days my body can tell the difference. After 6 weeks on Ovcon my dr. will do some more blood work.

Hopefully,

I am doing much better - thanks for asking. I am almost done with my second cycle of lo-ovral (bcp) and have been on Lexapro for 2 weeks. My anxiety has almost disappeared and I have not been having hot flashes (well, I had one 2 days ago, but I think it was from the lexapro since that happened when I took it a few years ago and went away after the first 4 weeks.)

I still have nights when I have trouble staying asleep, but I had that also when I was on Lexapro before and it eventually went away.

At only 42 yrs old, I could be facing many more years of this, so I have resigned myself to using the bcp and the lexapro because there is no sense in suffering needlessly - life is too short!
