I am taking Lo-Ovral. I started it a few years back when I first started having hot flashes, insomnia and anxiety. It worked great. I went off of it in March of last year and I started to have the hot flashes, then insomnia, and now all kinds of symptoms within about 3 to 4 months. I just started it last month and have only just finished my first pill pack. It seems to have taken care of the hot flashes already, but I felt so anxious this last week on the "placebo" pills, I felt horrible!
Last time I was on the pill, my Dr, gave me the Climara patch to use during that week since I would get a really bad headache 24 hours after I finished my last active pill. I would keep it on for the week and take it off when I started up a new pill pack.
Lo-ovral is monophasic so it is the same formula for all of the pills except the placebo pills. Since it is like this, my Dr. says it keeps everything "level" and that is why he likes to prescribe it for perimenopausal patients. This way, you don't get a lot of ups and downs.
Once I was established on the LO-Ovral before, I didn't experience any symptoms at all (I should have never stopped taking it!) I am hoping after a few months back on it, I am back to "normal". I have heard that liightheadedness can be caused by some pills. You may want to try another brand. Good luck!
