I suffer from Bipolar disorder and Barretts Esophagaus, so I take Lithium, clelex and colozapam for the bipolar disorder, and then Nexium 40Mg twice a day for the Barretts. Just recently they put me on 2 inhalers because I cannot breath. Does anxiey cause gerd, I would say 100% yes. Tension anxiety, all I have experienced and all were followed by gerd. Suggestions, get a wedge pillow so your head is elevated and do not eat 3 hours prior to bed. Also get a endoscopy to find out how bad your gerd is and if it has progressed to Barretts.
