Hi, it wasn't a sale pitch. Armour thyroid is a natural thyroid hormone that contains t4 and t3. Its a prescription drug that comes from animals. I am on armour myself after having my thyroid removed. I started on synthetic (levoxyl) switched to armour and it made a world of a difference.
Do you even know what exactly your wife's levels were? Being told its normal is no good. YOU NEED TO KNOW THE NUMBERS! If they are low in the range she needs MORE thyroid meds, in regards to t3 AND t4. TSH is best around 1. Anything higher is a reason for an increase in meds. Hair loss is a symptom of thyroid. So is depression. Weight gain/loss...all these things.
