Mamzelle, my mom is diabetic and also has thyroid problems. She takes lantus 70 units and humalong varies for diabetes; she takes levothroid for thyroid .01; and she takes clonidine .01 3 or 4 x daily plus verapamil 120 mg; she takes zocor .75 for cholesterol. Yesterday, the dr. increased the verapamil to 240mg and the clonidine to .02 2x daily. Her bp was 140/85, but he wants it at 130/80. Her cholesterol dropped 240, but that's bcuz she took only half a tablet.

She said she will increase the meds for better results. The dr. did say to be care that bp doesn't drop too low.
